my anubias nana has recently developed really dark green spot on the top of its leaves...ATM only two leaves have them...
I thought my ottos would be able to clean it off but i guess not lol, i tried rubbing it off as well...what is this? and can i treat it?

Take it out and spray it with Flourish excel and then rub the stuff off. Have read that they tend to get algae, which is what it has, in bright lit places.

algae is inevitable with anubias however i wouldnt take it out, use a syringe and dribble about 1ml of easy carbo or excel on the leaf.

I just leave it and let it disppear when CO2 is/circulation/phosphates are corrected.

GSA is symptomatic of low phosphates but even when dosing high phosphates Anubias will get some GSA. I dose 5ppm and I still get some but not too much and that is with super circulation and very high CO2 :)

Otos and shrimp won't touch this stuff.

thanks for the replies, i think ill follow trucks advice as is seems simplest...
I just got a glass nano diffuser for the co2 about 2 weeks ago and have been dosing seacham's flourish weekly since before the spots appeared so idk...

Thanks again
