I just bought a beautiful Anubias Barteri nana and was wondering what would be the best way to plant it. I know that the rhizome shouldn't be buried, but should the roots be left exposed or buried? Does this plant get it's nutrients from the roots of the leaves?

Thanks.

Thanks.

it gets nutrients from both. the plant naturally attaches to wood or rock so this is the best thing to do with it in the aquarium. just tie on with cotton thread and it'll take hold in a few weeks.

her's one of mine for an example (front right, on wood)

Thanks. I think I'll attach it to some slate.

slate is not the best thing to use. basically the roots work their way into all the nooks and crannies of the wood or rock and grip on. with a flat piece of slate there will be nothing to attach to.

The piece of slate I have isn't very flat, it's kind of lumpy but I guess I could use some other rock.
