Hi,

Unfortunately a lot of my plants arrived before my bogwood so I haven't managed to attach my Anubia Nana yet. It's just floating in the tank but the roots seem to be growing at quite a rapid rate. Can I break off some of the roots before attaching it to the wood (when it arrives) or would that cause damage to the plants? I'm not very clued up on plants, hence why I've opted for 'hard to kill' species!

Cheers :good:

Shouldnt be a problem just to cut them back a bit. You could plant the thing in the substrate keeping the rhizsome above ground level and the roots under fo the time being if you wanted aswell.

I just bought one last week, i always have loved the dark green color of the leaves.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I might plant it in the substrate until next week. I love the look of it too, it's totally different to the rest of the plants I have, I only wish they were a bit bigger. It's about 2" or so and cost me £7 each! When I saw a pic of one online it was like 4 or 5" so I was a tad disappointed. It was the only let down from java plants though. Does anyone know how big (roughly) the tropica varieties are?
