Hi there!
I hate to be "one of those"... and with one of those I mean one of those that just sign up to a forum, and then dissappears after they've gotten the help/info they need. But at the moment I am one of those. Sorry!
But... I have been searching online, and cannot find what I want/need anywhere. I am looking for Anti-Parasite Medicated Fish Food.
Two of my poor wee platys are not well at all. I originally thought it was the betta bothering them (my betta is very good, he's not the attacker type) as one was getting skinny and the other started to hide.
So, as a makeshift solution until my smaller aquarium is available in spring (currently got a hibernating butterfly in it) I seperated the aquarium (63L) so the platys are on one side, and the betta on the other.
Sadly... no quick fix... skinny fish getting skinnier (he is however very happy, swimming about without a care in the world) eats a lot, but no weight gain. The other platy is not so skinny but is lethargic, and will most of the time hide either in a plant or in an ornament.
After some googling... internal parasite???
Am treating with eSha 2000, have raised temperature and added Epsom salt. However... have found Anti-Parasite Medicated Fish Food online... and I want my two wee boys to get better!
So, questions is... is there anywhere in the UK I can buy it? Or somewhere online with decent shipping prices (would prefer UK, as it would hopefully get her quicker)? Have found this, but shipping is £20! And not knowing whether it will get here quick and if it will work, £20 for shipping seems a wee bit steep (and no, I do not have a problem paying £20 if I knew for certain it would help my fish and get here quickly).
Other alternative is going the vets I guess... but they don't have much knowledge when it comes to fish (took one of my goldfish there 2 years ago... vets were bemused! lol! But after a few tries with different antibiotics my big beautiful goldfish girl is still one happy camper. Oh, just to mention, my goldfish are not together with the platys/betta), so I'm not to keen on stressing the fish only to find out the vets don't know how to treat him.
Any help much, much appreciated!!! Thank you so much for your time.
