With the Bala's getting bigger, round 6 to 7 inches, they are starting to feel a little cramped I think. I plan on taking them back to my lfs within the month and move my JD out into my display tank where he should be happy for the rest of his life :good: . I'm trying to get some new things that might make him more comfortable after the move. I also got some giant danios that I plan on putting in there with him. Hopefully they will be too quick for him to catch an in time he won't look at them besides another piece of his world. Well anyways... here are some pics of the tank with a new piece of Bogwood I bought, I think it fits perfectly and gives some good cover to the heater and filter intake. Yes, the background still doesn't fit and I'm looking to find something to go good with the look I'm going for.

I also put some potted swords and other large leaf, sword like plants around the bogwood to fill in the area. Hopefully they will grow well under the decent lighting I have (upgraded bulb in basic ficture)

Close up of the bogwood. I only soaked it for two days and it waterlogged and leaked its tannins quite quickly. I think it's the perfect piece for my tank and I loved it as soon as I saw it.

EDIT: Well was thinking, since I got this newer pic of him, I might as well put him up here seeing how this will be his new home soon, My little buddy JD:

Thanks guys :good: . Getting there slowly, but reaching a point where I'm actually starting to get satisfied with the tank design

i would be satisfied too it looks great mate :good:
maybe a few more plants scattered around on the left hand side would look nice

it's still quite cloudy though huh?

what sort of filter do you have?

It isn't cloudy. I didnt even notice but I guess the pic just makes it look that way. I just use a Cascade HOB filter. Its a cheap filter but gets the job done.

yeah looks really good, if you are still looking for a fitting backround, just use something simple like a dark blue or black, i think a dark blue would look great too, good looking tank.

Nice looking tank how many gallons is it?

55USG.... Thats why I'm planning on getting rid of my Bala's, they deserve something bigger and I def don't have the money right now to give a nice big tank to them. My JD will be quite happy in here though, so as soon as the lfs takes my bala's, the little guy will get moved out in this tank

Ya.... I was thinking about going a plain, blue or black background, but I'm keeping my eyes open if anything appeals to me.

Thanks for the comments :good:

Tank looks good so far. I think some plants that are planted between the rocks on the left hand side will look really nice. And as for the background I would get a 2-sided background with both black+blue than you can switch back and forth. That's what I have for a background on my tank.
