Another "unknown" Growing On My Plants

I have something on very many of my plants. It has long brown fluffy processes - any ideas anyone please?!

It is the java fern putting out new plants, the brown are the roots to it, leave it on the leaf and when it gets big enough, take it off and the old leaf may die.

I'm asking you whether you meant to say for me to take them off the leaves and then expect the leaf to die. Or were you telling me to take them off so that the leaves don't die.

Take it off the leaf it's growing on when it's grown abit and re-plant it.
