Another question for u, with the heaters should they be upright in the corner, or across the middle? I see alot of the pics on here have them laid along the middle.
Also i have a arcadia lighting hood with 2 bulbs one is normal 25 watt the other is a 25 watt tropical plant growth lamp if that makes any sense :S Anyway the plant growth is a lower light but because i got the display hood there was no instructions so not sure as too leave both on together or one longer then the other to promote plant growth? Confused :-( I am, but if anyone out there knows try and fill me in thanxs

I put my heater more in the middle and hide it with wood and tall growing plants.

so it doesnt have to be upright?
Depends on the kind of heater you have. If it says it can be submerged then you can, some can't. Some can be part way out of the water or it can be submerged (the kind I have)

Sorry I don't know, I don't remember everything about equipment ;)

It's better if it isn't upright. You see heat rises, therefore warm water rises so putting the heater horizontal near to the substrate and in a position where the current will push the heated water around serves to distribute the heat more evenly and saves energy which might otherwise be lost to the air if the heater were positioned vertically. Also, most heaters can and will break if taken out of the water for any period of time. It is easier to keep something horixontaly positioned near the bottom submerged (obviously) than something close to the surface because it is upright. However, if you do put the heater close to the substrate, make sure it isn't actualy touching any ornaments or the substrate. It should only have contact with the water (and obviously with the suction cup thingies holding it in place :p).

You might have to by different suction cups since the ones that come with the heaters usually don't stick, they plain old stink

 I will dig out those instructions only brought it the other day aswell then if ok i shall position it further down cheers :)

When you get it in there try to position plants/rocks/wood in front of it to hide it. Just looks better :)

It can go anyway you want, the best position is a 45 degree angle in mid tank but even with only adequate filtration most oother postions will be fine

Will do, gave my fish peas for the 1st time today as i mentioned in another topic(i think) anyway they are now all pooping green, this is ok? Well prob a silly question thinkin about it!

Yeah, green poop is normal for peas. :) Don't worry about it. You should see mine when they eat watermelon.

"You should see mine " thought u actually meant yours at 1st lol  Only joking what other foods do u give yours then and there is still some peas at the bottom may be a bit hard shall i remove them? :fun:
