yep i need some help again. i was wondering if my other female platy is pregnant? heres her picView attachment 45494
thanks and please tell me what you think
No offense but it really would help if the pic was more clearer...
I'm not an expert but on platys, you will usually see a gravid spot if she's preggo... It will be right bihind the anal fin..
Although, if that lighter pics of red spot in he pic is what your trying to point out, it looks kinda squarish, and they say to watch out if it gets square for they will drop thier fry soon.
SO, let's wait for another "more experienced member"
You may be able to see black spots in her. This would be the eyes of the babies. And like mentioned above she would start to look like a square in the front.
dark orange platys or reds as they are know as dont really have gravid spots that are visible unless that is if that area of the body is lighter than the rest, answering the question though
CONGRATS you are due to have some fry in between 2 and 5 days as she starting to box up in the belly area. shes a beauitful fish, the reds are really hard to find around my part of the counrty. and ive only ever found 1 female in the last 6 months
that would do my head in full red males are great for breeding particular fish, they tend to hold the dominant gene that come out in the fry but only on the finnage, ive bred several twinbars and sunset by my male and have found that the cream twinbars carry the red finnage but if any female like the sunset HF produce red HF fry because the sunset also hold the dark orange gene, slowly breeding him with selected few to see what happens, hes one happy little fish and always up for a good time in the breeding tank with the girls
