Hello all!

I know I am probably asking a question that has been asked many a time but the water in my tank goes from clear to cloudy every other day? is there anything I can do to help keep the water clean?

I change the water weekly and condition but it still is dirty?

cycling? What type of cloudiness is it? Brown/color of your gravel (probably gravel/sand whatever), white (bacteria) or green (algae)?

Gravel is what came with the tank setup which is a fuval?? gravel blue green white in colour and yes was washed before I placed into the tank.

The water is just dirty I suppouse? I will post a photo so you can see, just concerned if anything happens to the fishes.

The tank was clean, I have been running it for nearly 4 weeks now and all of a sudden its gone cloudy/dirty?

Also, I have just done a 30-40% water change and its still cloudy/dirty.

The gravel is now clean so is it a case I wait?

Could I carry out anouther water change of say 60% or would that be too much?

What kind of filter do you use and how often do you clean it?. How exactly do you clean it?. If it's white cloudiness, that suggests a bacterial bloom. As much info as possible, please.

I have a fuval 2plus and not cleaned as yet.

Seems to be clearing up now - the water was very cloudy and mukky. After the water change, I have noticed the lower part of the tank to be very clean now and it looks like it is working its way up?

Some photos, poor as they are off my phone.

Just rinse the filter sponges in old tank water every time you do a water change. DON'T replace them every month as the manufacturer recommends because: 1) You'll be wasting money when you don't need to and 2) You'll be throwing away the bacteria that's built up.
