:D Hi to all.

Please forgive if this is a daft question. I really am an absolute beginner!!

I set up a new 4 foot tank two days ago. No fish in place yet but the heater, pump, light etc are installed, together with gravel, plants and a few rocks from one of the local fish stores.

All seemed well until yesterday when i noticed that the water had turned really cloudy. :(

I am sure I cleaned the gravel and rocks as best I could and have actually removed one rock that may possible have been causing a problem but the water is still very cloudy.

Can anyone give me some ideas as to what the problem may be please?

Or will the filter clear the water and am I just being highly impatient!!?

Thanks.

B) Hi steve,

Give it a day or two to see if the filter clears it through. Is it big enough for the tank? what kind are you using? I use undergravel and suspended bio filter, just in case one does not work properly. Have you done all the necessary ph water tests?

I have just set my tank back up after moving house, and am still in the process of setting up with no fish.(even though I have kept tropical`s for years, it is very time consuming and what you definately need is plenty of patience).
