hi everyone, im new here lol and i used to have some golden orf in a 4 foot tank (then i moved them into a freinds pond where they are meant to be) and 2 weeks ago i got a vwery simple setup again, reallllly simple i mean a 18 inch by 14 inch *faunarium* actually designed for lizards...lol with 3 red comet goldfish (i wanted simple and easy) also have a very small filter in the tank with an airstone...with the v small airpump! they are all happy but....there is something im concerned about, the bigger of the three....keeps getting chased by the other two, the one being chased looks a little different..as it has a thin black stripe , well more like the back of its tail has a black line in...and its a lot chunkier than the other two....i have no idea how to sex fish...lol i guess it may be males chasing the female to breed, but they are quite a lot of the time racing around the tank, not hurting eachother but.....from childhood memory..of real pathetic bowls with 1 goldfish in...they didnt seem to do a lot, but these ones are allways up to something! i feed them standard fish flakes and bloodworms....this post is more an introduction but if anyone feels like maybe enlightening me as to perhaps why they are acting like this i would dearly appreciate it!

also i want to get a small tropical setup so i will be hunting around this forum and asking a lot of questions, thanks for reading this!

welcome to the forum love.

that tank is way too small for 3 comets, they grow fast and are pond fish, not tank fish. they have the potential to get to 20 inches, that's bigger than your tank, and keeping them in that tank is only going to stunt their growth, especially if they're not filtered enough. do you have plans for when they're bigger?
