Well, another newbie to TFF here.

I was deep into tropicals and saltwater more than 25 years ago. I re-entered the game a few months back with a long 20 gallon, which has had a variety of residents, mostly as an ancillary aquarium to my mate's larger 55 and bevy of smaller tanks. So much has changed in that quarter decade. When my mate signed on to TFF awhile back, she encouraged me to do the same. But I sniffed around all the tropical fish forums I could find for awhile before signing on here. And then I sniffed around some more. Yeah, I'm into sniffing.

Anyway, as well as a hello, this post is a congratulations for the civility and politeness of the people on TFF. There are many topical online forums, and I'm staff/moderator on two others (not dealing with tropical/saltwater hobby fish). I am happy to limit my fish hobbyist online participation to TFF. You are a well mannered and knowledgeable group. Info is important, but comfort is important, too. Both are available here.

Kudos to you, TFF.

For the record, I blundered into buying two Firemouths and two Jack Dempseys for my 20-gallon long aquarium. I just picked up a 55, and will be rehoming the Firemouths and putting the Jacks, a Bristlenose Pleco and a Synodontis Catfish in the 55. Eventually, when the Jacks outgrow the 55, I'll be looking for a 90, and hope to turn the existing 55 into a saltwater environment. I had a 55 saltwater lo, all those years ago, and really enjoyed it.

Anyway, good to be among you!

Good morning and welcome! I know what you mean about the civility on this forum. I belonged to a couple other forums when I found this one. Needless to say, I don't post much on the other ones. They are nowhere near as friendly. Good luck with your tank.
