Another new member

Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to all this forum stuff, but I've had a 40 litre (10.5 gal) tank for about 3 years now and everything seems to be going well, no major disasters!

I have 1 dwark guarami (male) whose partner died a couple of months ago, 2 lovely loaches that look like cows (I mean they are black and white patched, they don't have udders!!!), and 7 platies (majority orange & black).

I'm currently treating my oldest fish (3 yr old platy) for what I think is dropsy. Not sure there's much hope for him but I'll keep trying. He's very bloated and swims vertically. He spends most of the time hiding, otherwise he will just float to the surface. It's really sad watching him suffer.

But anyhow, that's me, and the forum looks fantastic,

Sorry to hear about your dropsy problem.

p.s. 40L is 8.8 UK gallons, seeing as your in the UK, just thought I would point it out, sorry if you knew that already.

Hi, and thanks for all the welcome messages. Good to know I'm amongst friends. I'm still treating the platy but I don't expect a recovery. He's 3 years old and is father of 18 so he's had a good life...
