I would like to get some more tank mates, but not sure which (there are so many great fish in my lfs) and as a newbie(!) would like some advice. See signature for current fish & size of tank, please ask me any other info that might help. :dunno:

Clown loaches, They are simply the best bottom fish you can get, they will keep you amused for ages, they are very easy to keep and eat most foods.

Clwon loaches. HA. I got two of them and disappeared. I am sure they are great fish if you can keep them for more then a day.

I say corys. :) They're so darn cute and so active, mine fly around the tank all day long playing and looking for food. :)

Clown loaches can grow to be too large for only a 29 gallon tank.

if your prepared to swap fish with your lfs if they get too big... then get a few clowns.

if not (you WILL grow attached to them) then corys have a lot of character and are more suited to smaller tanks.

khuli loaches are also nutty little things :)

I would get corys or small loaches such as zebra or skunk loaches. Clowns will outgrow your tank.

hence the comment about swapping them in my last post...

Most of you seem to be suggesting Corry's, but how many, most posts i've read seem to suggest keeping them in groups. If so how many males to females ratio (not that i would wish to breed them, but just to keep them happy) or does it not matter. Thanks for the previous replys :D

I've got 4 cories at the moment and I'm looking into getting another one as well.
So I'd say anything between 3 - 10 (3 being the minimum in my opinion)

A male to female ratio for breeding is 2 males to every female. I also would advise against clown loaches in that size of tank.

Kuhli loaches are great, as are weather loaches and smaller plecs.

:)

I would say Corys too, they will go fine in ur tank and most will get 2.5" . CLown loaches will outgrow your tank. Or you can always add some other fish and not bottom swimmers.

Its never a good idea to buy a fish that will knowingly get way to large for your tank. People tend to get attached to their fish that are too large...and dont take them back. Also, keeping them in a smaller tank will probably stunt their growth and shorten their lives. I would say go with cories, khulies, yoyo loaches, or maybe a clown Pleco.
