Well, it wasn't really surprising that I woke up this morning to find my oldest and longest surviving swordtail dead this morning. He was my very first swordtail and the survivor of my many noobish fishkeeping mistakes. Good bye "Old Haas." You will be missed.
I checked my tank parameters, Ammonia 0.1 (I think from the dead fish being in there for those few hours) Nitrite 0, pH 7.4, Nitrate 20. So I think it is safe to say that this was from old age.
