Hi,

I have a 4ft tank with around seven kribs in, a few plecos & Coolis in.

I have for definate one male and two females, one of the females is very purple on her belly, and Ive saw the male chase her and her show him her belly, this is a sign of them pairing right?

I have a few items in the tank for decor, and one in perticular is home to the kribs.

Am I ok to leave the pair that are fliting in the tank to breed, or do you recommend that I move them to their own tank?

I also have a pair of blackbelts that have previously laid eggs but they got eaten by other fish, these are in a tank of there own, with a house that they live in. What signs should I be looking for when the are to mate?

& Is the house enough for them? Its one of thos that has a window and a door, and that they can both go inside?

Thanks

Mells :)

1. yes thats a sign of pairing, have they been swimming round together alot ?
2. you could add more caves, i use flower pots of their sides sometimes
3. it would probably be better if they were in a tank of their own then they are more likely to raise fry successfully.
just don't lift their pots in search for eggs or shine a light in their pot as this cause them to eat their eggs.

i don't have any experience with blackbelts sorry :( just look for what the do in most chiclids spending lot's of time together in the same cave, sometimes jaw-locking
