Hello everyone,

This seems to be a rather common problem: Tank has really green water, and water changes will just make it a tad bit clearer for a couple of days then right back to green. This is not the first time i have had this problem. I currently have a 75 gallon freshwater set up. I do not have live plants, and i just replaced the fluorescent bulb. I had this problem last year in a 30 gallon aquarium, same set up. One day i just came down and it was clear as day. It happened to a friend of mine as well in a ten gallon aquarium. I have heard that using a UV filter will get rid of it. For a clearer description, these are pictures of what the tank looks like right now:

If anyone has ANY advice or suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Too much light entering the aquarium (algae) to many neutrients and phosphates for the algae to thrive on.
Use Reverse Osmosis water (cheap kits on the market these days) I mix mine with some tapwater to get the right parameters. Place Rowaphos in the filter chamber. And conduct regular waterchanges. Other than that buy a Diatomic Filter.
