Currently cycling 20 gal tank. Amonia reading this morning was 1ppm. Now I've decided I can't wait any longer so I'm going to put a filter from another tank (established) into the 20 gal tank. Now I know I'll hav eto do a water change to get rid of the amonia and hopefully the mature filter will get rid of any left over. My question is this, can I put the immature filter into a cycled tank with no adverse effects? ie a filter that's been exposed to amonia into a tank with fish? Or should I let it dry out for a couple fo days?
