I do 100% once a week.

Plants are Crypts and Creeping Jenny. The pot is to keep the twigs upright.

Dimension are 7" square.

:hyper: tries to think how she can get to town to look in shops....creeping jenny ..got loads of that round my pond and then it grows in the pond..never thought of using it indoors......

Ok, now you've done it...

Suppose I can get one of these 'tanks' in Poundstretcher. I have a betta arriving this week that I have ordered from KG Bettas. I was going to try it in my community tank but now I've seen yours, I quite fancy putting it by my bed in one of those perspex cubes.

I've been looking at mini heaters. Do you think one of the ones that are on all the time would be okay or would I be better going for one with a thermostat? My house isn't really hot or cold but the temperature in my bedroom does change a bit as I put my heater on when I need to. I'm getting central heating at some point soon (if any of the plumbers that have come around bother to follow up their visit with a quote but that's another story!).

And if I do large weekly water changes, I can get away without a filter?

thanks
Julie

I personally do not use a Heater as the room temp throughout the house stays a nice warm temp.
One of those Newattino heater?? they would be toooo hot for a tank so smal, and may warp it.
I think a desk lamp would suffice.

I used a small tube of silicone u can get for making repairs and thet was plenty.

If you can't find 1 in Instore, try wilkinson they do something similiar but in glass. or the candle/vase section in a department store.

Thanks for getting back to me. I think I'd be okay heatwise in the day but I reckon it'd be too cold during the night as I wouldn't have the lamp on then. Those Newattino heaters are 10w and say they're okay for aquariums between 2 and 20 litres and the £15.99 one has a thermostat so it looks like it'd be okay?

What did you use the silicone for, did you have to make repairs?

thanks again
Julie
