i have 2 male dwarf gouramis that get along fine not any trouble when there together they play and swim around and they split up and rest in seperate parts of the tank. I was thinking of getting a 3rd would this be ok i would get a male also as i do not want any breeding as i have a community tank and dont want any problems.

I'm no expert on dwarfs, which is why I wouldn't have replied. That and I haven't been on that much lately!
I think you would be asking for trouble, personally. If the two you have get on well then adding another may rock the proverbial boat and start aggression.
How long have you had them and what else lives in the tank? Also how old is the tank and what is it's size? All these have a big factor whenever adding any fish to an aquarium.
Hugs,
P.

I'd say it's a bad idea. When you add another gourami to an established group, you should expect trouble. The newcomer is seen as an intruder. Particularly in a situation where all are males, the new fish is likely to be attacked. In fact, if he isn't killed directly, stress from being chased and terrorized may well result in illness and death - especialy with dwarf gouramies, which are highly prone to disease.
