I have a Nutrafin Co2 kit, but I'd like to have a second canister just to help keep the Co2 levels stable. I want to DIY this one, as I don't really have the $$ to go out and buy another nutrafin kit. I've read just about every post on this topic, and I just have a couple of questions.

I've been told I don't need a second ladder, just a second canister. I have a gang valve (I think it has space for 3 lines, plus a flow control knob), so in theory I can hook the air tubing together, I'm just not sure what gets hooked where/how. Ultimately, how many airlines end up in the tank - just one? It just has co2 from both canisters flowing into it? I've also heard of using a diffuser instead of a ladder, and using an airstone instead of a diffuser. Does that mean I can replace the ladder with an airstone? Is this more or less effective than the ladder?

Also - i know this might be a REALLY dumb question, but I just want to make sure I've got this right: going by Aaron's instructions, the 2 liter bottle gets the sugar/yeast/water mixture. The half-liter just serves as protection against any back-up mixture getting into the tank, and also serves as a bubble counter (if you put water in it). ??

Thanks in advance for all your help guys!

Hi Christine

I have 2 bottles and use 1 canister.

You need to a 3 way valve/t junction. Plug each of the bottles into this valve and then take another line off of it and into your bottle counter.

The rest is the same, hope this helps.

If not, let me know and I will sort a diagram.

Aaron
