hi, i have recently stocked my 3ft tank with 2 clowns and 2 firefish,, one of the fire fish died after 3 days and todai being the 6th day ive had them, one of my clowns is dead.. I tested the water and all levels are 0 but my salinty was 1.026.. could that be the contributor to the deaths??
If so how do i bring the salinty down??

Cheers

1.026 is the correct salinity for a reef aquarium I doubt that would cause any problems unless the fish were not acclimtised correctly. 2 Firefish in a 3 foot where they a proven pair if not I would guess they would fight like mad. would need more symtons on the clown fish was it breathing heavy etc.?

but can I just note that we are talking about SG not salinity :good: Normal seawater has an SG of 1.026

nah they weren a proven pair,,, which i can assume is the reasoning why one died,, nah both of the clowns were doing great,, not acting weird no breathing heavy, nothing... both responding to food and even if i put my hand or finger on the glass they would go back and fourth like playing and excited hahaha which sounds weird lol...

In purchsing my nxt fish i think im going to go for bigger fish as the clowns i brought were only young... would this be a ok idea??? im planning on taking the juvi clown back and gettin two largers one and leaving the one firefish i have atm..

There are many things that are not measured in the water column that can kill. Are you using RO water? If so, from where?

1.026 is a fine specific gravity for your tank. Your salinity is probably around 35%. SH

PS...I wouldn't add any more fish right now. SH
