Anorexic Discus

As Jim said, you need some more oxygen asap being the key!!!!!

You should see quite a bit of improvement with some more oxygen, they will seem to perk up anyways.

Ok, I'm taking out my CO2 injection, hopefully the pH won't get wonky... I'm taking it off slowly.

I wouldn't worry about taking out the C02, If it is DIY then the pH wouldn't move too much, injection probably would change a little more. You really need to add a good air pump. ASAP. Really get that surface movement going.

With the gasping, I'd drop the temperature, add an air stone, up the surface movement die to the filter and stop CO2 injection with immediate effect :good: This will up the Oxygen levels in the tank and hopefully resolve the issue, or at least give you more time to play with.

Whats your KH and pH? The gasping could be a CO2 overdose, and if it isn't you have a problem that needs resolving. What are the Ammonia, NitrIte and NitrAte stats? These being elevated can caurse gasping. If it isn't water quality or CO2 overdoses, you have something parasitic at work, and that means you require treatment in there soonish. Considering theres no flicking/rubbing going on, I'd guess it's CO2

Rabbut, isn't gasping signs of internal parasite, not external?

As well as a hand full of Protozoan, Cartesian (spelling?), certain bacterial strains.....

If water quality and CO2 overdose get ruled out, I'm going to advise getting hold of a Microscope so you can pin down what it is and treat it correctly  Flukes will require a trip to the Vet in the UK, as legal meds that work for that has to be bought under percription. I have had success with Waterlife Sterazin before, but that was apparently a fluke

He's in Mexico. There is no such thing as a perscription in Mexico. You can buy anything you want over of the counter.

Sorry for not posting... apparently my hardships were not caused by something I did.
After quite some discussion with the LFS (they would not give me my money back as the guarantee has expired after the 3 days) they agreed to give me store credit if they found out that their fish where sold to them by their provider sick. After some discussion they had with their provider, the provider accepted that a batch of their fish had an internal infection or parasite of a sort that they could not cure (and decided to sell them anyways) and agreed to give them credit, which in the end they ended up passing to me... so good stuff! When they get a healthy discus (this time I'm making sure) I'm getting them for no cost.
The last of the discus, one of my first turquoise, is quite healthy, although quite lonely and therefore jumpy. Just to make sure, is there a rate at which I should add the fish? Like two or three at a time, etc...

thanks again for your support.

I would not add anything to the tank with that last discus until I was 100% sure he is not ridden with parasites. And for me that would mean waiting at least a month if not more to see if the symptoms start to show or not.
