After noon, I got this nice yellow guppy BUT he is so annoying. I fear he is stressing all my fish out by chasing them. I got 5 male n 5 female. The males chase the females then stop but this yellow one chases males and females. He gets in front as if to show off and then does it to the rest. Any reason for this and will he stop? He is 2 mins away from being flushed!!! Thanks in advance

Don't flush it. Take him back to the shop and keep a ratio of at least 2:1 female to male to reduce harrassment of the females. Alternatively you could keep a single sex group.

Yh was gonna take him back but where I work etc he'll be stuck in a bag for 5 hrs until my lunch. Any reason as to why he is doing it?

Might be just trying to prove his dominance. Can you hold out until weekend, things might improve?

I can post him to you in a envelope if you like lol. Im the boss not him ha. Well every time he has done it i take him out the tank n put him in a breeding tank. he did stop but as im writing this hes doing it again! The other fish must hate him!

Ha ha, no thanks. I never had any luck with guppies.

It really is mainly because you don't have more females.. ratio of 2+ females per male is always best with guppies :)

ok thanks people. u just saved this guppy from getting the "whirl of terror" i'll get some more females. always pregnant thou aint they the hoes lol

It's diffently a domanice issue. I'm surprised you havent expirenced that with your other males.. I have 1 male to 4 females and my male still does that just to prove to the females hes in charge. Although it looks more like hes flirting.. haha.

Anyway, best thing to do is either take him back or get more females. Your probably lucky your other males havent done that yet :)

yh their quiet well behaved. 2 males have got ripped tail thou but i do have a siamese fighter in to but he seems really peaceful and stupid and highly ammusing to watch when he gets stuck to the filter hahahaha

Careful about him getting stuck, that can actually kill him (know from expirence). Something I find fun to watch though with guppies are when you feed them blood worms they swim around with half of it still sticking out their mouth lol. Sometimes they try to take it from eachother even though theres more in the tank haha.

nah i h8 2 tell you ur not the boss period !!!!! leave him alone and let the fish sort themselves out. its probably just trying to be the dominant male witch i might add is your fault for having the same male > female ratio , dnt blame the fish, blame your lack of knowledge

and plus if he is trying to be the dominaint 1 he is probabaly the healthiest male in the tank if non of the others do the same ,

Look at jock2007 getting all lemon on here.. in a 6ft tank they shouldnt be fighting and also I am the boss coz its in my house, my room and my tank PERIOD. Any way Lyra0727 yh funny to watch that or when their eating blood worm n got half hanging out their mouth n pooin the other half out other end haha. I turn the filter of when he gets stuck but of course i aint around 24/7. the rest of the males are ok but its just this one yellow one ha! any ways i'll grab some more females, i did have 7 females but lost 2 due to new tank...

 Boss??? what a prat, actually sounds very childlike, would fear for any pet this person has who doesn't follow his rules in his house if he can be this thick about a simple fish  Plus your tank is 32 inches not 6 foot long

For the people that are yelling at him give him some credit pelease.. most people would think in such a big tank small fish like guppies wouldnt have that big of a issue. I mean I am the same length as that tank and thats pretty long! And guppies are extreamly small fish. And so what if he got the same amount of females and males.. at least he registered so he can get help on here to make things right. You gotta think about the whole picture before you go getting upset at someone.

But for the pooping and eating things.. that would be funny! If I ever see that I'm taking a pic of it! Haha.
