I'm experiencing some algae problems, a good percentage of my plants are getting coated in some sort of light brown algae and not growing well, others of the same type are flourishing!....having read about problems I may not have enough WPG, it would be just above 1, as its a Tetra tank, about 60l.

As this is the case (correct me if I'm wrong! :good: ) what bulb is best to use, or how can I fit another one on to the design, as there's not alot or room for two bulbs?!

I use a Nutrafin CO2 Kit at about 1 bubble per 4-5 seconds on average and have been using a dose of Nutrafin Plant Gro every week or so. As you can see by the picture it is planted a fair amount....as i'm adding some riccia soon I want to get things perfect....one regret was the substrate, I know this will make the difference but can't really change it now....

Hmm, to be truthful, I wouldn't say that was heavily planted. What is your lighting period? This can affect algae growth substantially. I also may be mistaken, but have you got something wrapped around the base of some of those plants? The one at the front left looks like it has wool wrapped around the base?

I wouldn't say its heavily planted either....my lighting period is about 13 hours a day, probably too much?

As for the plant, that is still in its base from the shop but is doing fine, even forgot about it although its obvious....i've just taken it out now :good:

There arent alot of fast growers in there. Consider getting some (there is a list in the algae pinned article).
Lighting period is best at 10hours.
I think you should sort this out before considering more lighting.
