Hi just wanted to now if the new duty of care laws for animals (in the UK) relate to fish in a shop as well

As far as I know.... yes they do.

And if they don't then they bloody well should do - saw one shop today with 4 dead fish (guppies) in various states of decomposition sucked against the filter - together with live guppies :(

Won't say where but it was not around here...

the shop we were in had a dead fish with mould on it and all the other fish in the other tanks were gasping for air at the top. There may have been more dead fish in the other tanks but I didnt look as it p**s's me of seeing animals mistreated. We told them about the mouldy fish but wanted to now about the rules they are governed by as to my next coarse of action. Anyone now who we should contact

The local trading standards in the first instance as they're responsible for licencing the petshop...
