I have recently been watching my female pearl gourami and she seems to be getting more aggresive. My 40 gal tank has 5giant danios, 5 dwarf aussie rainbow fish, 6 tetras, and 4 loachs. She seems to get aggresive towards the danios the most and she is the only gourami I have. Whats the deal?, Should I get a male for her or another semi-aggresive gourami?, I mean I thought pearls where suppose to be peaceful. She not very aggresive she just acts like get out of the way or I'll get you. What should I do?

IME this tends to happen when a gourami is the biggest fish in the tank - they like to establish their dominance

Should I add another?, maybe different species of gourami or should I leave her alone and let here settle? I've had her about a month and can't seem to find anymore pearls but I'm going to the store tomorrow, are there other type of gourami species I can have?, my store has some nice paradise fish which I heard can go together should I think about considering this?

If I were you, I 'd keep it like it is> as after a month as the dominant fish it will probably chase any new biggish fish quite vigorously.

I have not kept Paradise fish, although they would be similar size so could be bad.

Btw; What type are your loaches???? (If they are Clown Loaches- I would not add any more fish as they grow large.)

:good:
