please explain any answers thanks

forgot to say if i can do you know where i can get one as the one in my lfs is 70 pounds which i think is a tad pricey

I searched "Angler Fish" on google.
It looked like a monster!
Am I looking at the right thing?
If so..###### i'd love one of them!

how small fish smallest i have are about 1-1.5 inch and a 2-3 inch cleaner shrimp

not sure to be honest mate, i suppose anything smaller or the same size as the angler could be a meal at some stage so your smallest fish could be in trouble, everytime i have ever seen them in lfs's they are always housed with some other sort of oddball fish like a box fish for example. Wicked looking fish they are arn't they but i do not know of anyone who has owned one, must be more reasons why not.

ok any one elses opinions

frog fish thats all i know name wise if not is there any species sutable?

Phew thank goodness for that
Where's AndyWG when you need him, he is the expert on these gorgeous fish.
I would say no, you would need to set up a different tank, they eat small fish and invertebrates, they can also be harmed by certain fish i.e angelfish as they pick at them.
If you can get hold of a copy of Reef Fishes Vol. 1 by Scott W. Michael there is a wealth of information on them :good:

If you can find out the actual name of the one in your LFS, I can look it up for you and give you all the info :good:

ahhh ok ill try to grt the name its just the same as the one in the photo i gave

OK going to stick my neck out here and go for the Antennarius Pictus common name painted frogfish
The book states
Max. size 9.4".
Captive care. :good: Basically its an easy to keep one which spends most of its time in the open. Its says you can keep more than one but they can be aggressive.

Frogfish don't like a strong current.

From what I've read they seem to do better on their own in smaller (20g) tanks.

I must say I have no experience of these fish and the above has all been from the Reef Fishes book :book:
