i was told to post here about info on angels...numbers of what i can have etc if you look and that post that will give you an idea of what ive been talking about...

It depends on whether you would want to get a breeding pair from a group of 6 juvenile angels and take the rest back. You would have room for 2 angelfish in that tank, 3 might be pushing it. There potentially may be some problems with the gouramis as they occupy the same levels as the angels - again it would be down to individual personalities. Bringing them all up together as juvies might help. I don't know anything about the BGK tho and its compatability with angels. :dunno: There will be people on here who now more about that.

i have 2 angles breeding and they wher picked from the store and i keep mine with gurarmis and they get on fine but its up to you B)

that post is to long to read, so I will ask a question.

Are you wanting angels for the 60 gallon, or a diffrent tank?

You should be able to have two pairs in a 60. Or four same sexed, preferably females, even though hard to sex, as the males may fight. Though IME I have never had any angels fight before.

A 60 gallon should be fine with 6 angels, along with the bgk. You may end up with a pair, split them up for a couple of weeks, then re-introduce the angel you pulled. Angels like a little warmer temp, 80F is good. I looked into bgk a little, seems the upper temp is 82F, so this should work out.

For show size angels, 10 gallons per fish is recommended. For adult potential breeders, you can get away with 5 gallons per angel. My 65 has 7 adult angels, 2 of which are a pair, another 3 have some strange pairing thing going on. Angels can get pretty brutal when pairing, I had to pull one angel out of the tank who got really tore up by a pair of blacks. The pair doesn't bother any other angels in the tank, only this one.

Just keep an eye on them as they get older, you want to avoid casualties.

yes sorry for the link to the long post :p hehe..yea it is the 60G, it will be easy to keep an eye on my fish as the tank is going next to the computer yay! hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....i think i may try and buy female angels and get three of them.....and of course if this is not the case and they dont get along they have another home to go to .....

you wont be able to buy females knowingly unless they have been proven to be, and then they usually are sold as a pair.

ok well whats the best course of action...??? bascally i just like to have 2 or 3 cant i just buy 2 or 3 and see how they get on???

Either get 2, or 4+. If you get a pair out of 3, they will more than likely harrass the snot out of the 3rd angel. Having 4 or more will spread the aggression if you get a pair.

maybe ill just get 2 .....does it not matter if they both turn out to be males then..they wont be aggressive towards each other?

It's hard to say, they are all individuals. The 2 may get along fine, they may tear each other up. Sometimes pairs will for no apparent reason start beating on their mate.

Angels look all nice & pretty, but remember, they are cichlids, and do have that attitude.
