Angels & Tiger Barbs???

Is this a good combo or not? I'm guessing probably not, the tank is 48" x 15" x 18" if it is possible how many barbs would I need so they didn't bother the angels which there will only be 2 of by the way.

I believe tiger barbs are fin nippers and if you know what an angelfish looks like. Heh.. I'm sure someone with some experience with Tiger Barbs should be able to answer your question in further detail...

You are taking aweful risk by putting them together. The tiger barbs love to fin-nipping. Even with a large school of them, they will go after the angels.

I wouldn't recommend mixing them, but as long as the Angelfish have some shelter they should be ok. I have 2 large Angels with 14 Tigers and occasionally the Tigers chase them. If the Angelfish were small, then there could be problems. The more Tiger barbs, the less aggression towards the Anglefish. I would say at least 6 would be good.If I knew then what I know now, I probably wouldn't of mixed them.

Thanks for the replies guys, thought they probably wouldnt be suitable but just wanted asome opinions really so won't be adding the tigers to my tank, think I will stick to Rainbows.

tiger barbs are notorious fin nippers, but if u have them in groups they just play"Tag" all day, its 2 much of a gamble tho.
