Angels N Barbs?

do angesl and barbs go together? i got another angel for my centerpiece fish cause i just think they are beautiful! at the pet shop i got him from they had what they called 'albino' barbs tho i dont think they are. they have a creamish coloured body and orange stripes. they are very pretty n i was thinking if i moved my guppies n tetrs iinto another tank will these guys go with my angel?

I have 3 angels with 4 tinfoil barbs and 7 rosy barbs and they do well together. My fish are all pretty placid though...the rosys are even long finned and the angels don't bother them.

The fish you were looking at I believe are albino tiger barbs. Tigers can sometimes be pretty nippy, so I might worry about them bothering the angels more than anything.

I have a large male angel in with three tiger barbs and they all seem to get along fine. They are in a 55gl. I also have a large male angel in a 75gl with two large tin foil barbs and he also does fine. I have found once they mature you cannot put the male angels together. Live and learn.

Depends on the angel...I think mine are siblings which may have something to do with it, but I have 2 male and 1 female fully grown angels and they don't bother each other too badly. Two of them are a breeding pair and stay on one end of the tank, and the other male stays on the other end. The most the males ever do is kinda peck at each other and then they back off. No real damage done...the only thing I've ever noticed is a few missing scales.

I think that's the exception rather than the norm though, but it just shows it's possible!

thanx for all your quick replys! ok so they are albinos kool. i like this colouration very much. i am thinking of getting 6 as they like bigger groups best, they had tiger barbs n green moss barbs i think it is? but i like the albino best. the angel is only very small but has an attitude lol, i am sure the barbs being in a big group will keep to themselvs bt if not i am sure the angel can hold his own. yes unfortunanlty i found out the hard way i had to beautiful almost full growen males together n the bigger one almost killed the smaller one so i took them back to the petshop n they were fine in a bigger group. he swaped for female. unfortunanlty my last one dies the other day. but i baught a beautiful black lace on yesterday n thought he would look lovely in the tank with the albino barbs. hopefully they will still have them on friday.

the only smaller barbs i would trust with a fish with flowing fins is the cherry barb!

Or the gold barb.

Wouldn't recommend rosy barbs, despite being described as peaceful, they're far from it in my tank. If it weren't for the fact they are a bugger to catch, they would have been caught/returned/bumped on the head by now.

I usto have cherry barbs and golden barbs in my first tank,great fish,no signs of aggresion to gouramis or anything.

well i got 6 albino barbs yesterday. the poor things there was like 30 barbs (mixed albino, moss and tiger) jamed into a 10L tank! it was so horrible, if i had the room i would have taken them all but i dont. i dont usualy go to these petshops, pets paradise a chain store in the shopping centers. the staff dont no much specialy bout the fish n the condition the keep there animals in is horrible! anyways they are happy to be swimmin in a bigger tank, and thismorning no other fish were missing theyr fins enc the fighter (i know fighters arnt sepost to be in comunity tanks but he was ut in there as a baby thinking he was female n hes happy n not nipping at anyone so i am leaving hime for now but i dont have plenty of fighter tanks on hand just in case!)

The Tiger Barbs are great fish, they will nip the fighter though!
