Hello everyone,

My Bossy angels just spawned!
Today I came home to find the eggs laid on my glass cleaning magnet. Now the parents are terrorising the whole tank and my red and fiddler crabs on "egg steal heist".
I thought since the "egg nest" should be easy to get out of the tank I could possibly move parents and the eggs to an 5gal tank that I have fishless (just an ornament, shell and some live plants).
I know I should of think of moving parents earlier when I saw the first sign of coming event, but I'm a newbie and just have my tank for a bit over 3 months. I was not sure if I'll be able to raise an angel babies, but my husband encouraged me to try. So armed with the videos from Youtube how to rase brine shrimp for food and what to do with fry and etc etc I'm going to give it a try.

Anyway back to the point, I was wondering if it would be OK and how can I do it the less harmless way to the eggs and the parents. Would it be a problem?

Thanks beforehand!

Are you sure they haven't been moved?

I was wwatching this You Tube vid about Angelfish breeding and it suggests that the parents move their young around a fair amount.

Check it out, I thought it was very informative!

Angelfish destroy their eggs if they feel threatened. So getting them to successfully breed in a community tank is reasonably improbable.

I had some angelfish spawn in one of my community tanks and they destroyed their eggs after about a day or two. There wasn't even much in the tank that could threaten them except perhaps the two bristlenoses. Not sure if they would've been destroyed or not had I removed the two bristlenoses. But I suspect fish like platies, swords, mollies, gourami and even tetras etc. would still try to eat their eggs and make the angelfish feel threatened and destroy them anyway.

edit: the angelfish were boss of this particular tank too
