ok, i have been reading the post about angels in groups... but i just wanted to check one aspect: Can you add Angel fish at a later period? i was just wondering if i bought three now, could i add any more later, say if i bought a larger tank? or would the established angles not accept the new ones?
thanks in advance.

it's awefully quite out here... mabye i should sum up my question into something easier... so:

Can you add Angel fish to an already established community?
If i but 2 Angels now, can i add 2 more in mabye a month?

thanks again.

The main issue with angels is when they pair up. Once that happens they will be hostile to most other fish (especially when spawning). You can only solve this by having sufficient space for more so they can stay away for each other.

Angels, being cichlids tend to establish territories. If you transfer a group of say 3 angels from a 29 to a 55, and add a couple more, their territories are gone. They tend to key their territories off of objects in the tank, so if you have 3 angels in a 55 & want to add a couple more, it is best to take out the existing angels, house for a couple of hours in another tank, and rearrange the tank. Rearanging the tank will remove their old territories. Add the new fish to the rearranged tank, let them get settled in a bit, and add the previous occupants one by one, leaving a little time between fish. Don't forget to quarentine any new purchases, no matter where you get them from.
