Angels Breeding?

I have 2 angels but they are not fully grown yet, they are about 3 inches not including tail. Can they breed this young?

1 of them has its breeding tube out, it's quite small (around 3mm) and rounded (nipple shaped).. would this be the male or female?

They are also together cleaning an amazon sword plant.

Why does only 1 of them have their breeding tube out?

Am not sure whether to expect eggs or not as they are still juvvies... any advice much appreciated!

If their tubes are out, chances are that they're breeding.

Great.. well if 1 has it's tube out and they are both cleaning the amazon sword, how long until i get eggs? Are they good parents because i have a lot of cichlids in the tank so don't know if the eggs will make it!

I don't know how long until you get eggs - it might not even happen. Chichlids are generally good parents but it usually takes Angelfish a few broods before their instint kicks in not to eat the eggs.

woo hoo, my koi is laying eggs while the platinum stands by looking bored! He has his breeding tube out though so hopefully he'll fertilize!

Nice one! Now is the time to determine the gender of them....F. has broader, blunter tube, M. has longer, thiner tube and should fertilise after eggs are laid.

It may take them 3 or more attempts without eating the young, unless you decide to rear yourself ...(?)

(Sometimes even two females can lay eggs, and obviously no Fertilising takes place- hope you have a pair!)

P.s; You have the answer as to whether they can start to breed at this size!

Ha ha thanks, I have a definite male and female, their papilla (?) look very different. I think i'm gonna let them raise them and see how it works out and then maybe over the summer if they don't manage it i'll do it.

How long does the female lay eggs for? She's been at it for hours! When does the male fertilize them??

Also if i have a koi and a platinum angel will they all turn out koi??

The boy wont fertilize her eggs is it possible that he's too young?
