Hi' all ,

Well i've got a rather mixed up tank atm with a variety of fish (basically trying to decide what i want to keep) in it i have:
3 angels only about 2inch body size ( i am planing to either upgrade tank or get rid when they get bigger)
2 juvi geophagus suriemsis
2kissing gourami's about 3inch each,
bristlenose plec,
1 sailfin molly (donated to me as someone didnt want it)

Now over the last two days ive noticed one of the angel fish constantly be chased by another and some damge done to the fins, i was going to give the aggressor to my mate tomorrow but then noticed the aggressive one going up and down near the filter outlett laying brown stuff that looks like eggs.

Is it most likely that these will be eaten? the angel fish is keeping everything away from the filter outlett atm.
Are my other fish in danger? noticed on the species index it saying that they will kill fish :(
Also if the eggs get eaten will it continue to be aggresive to the other angel fish?

I can put a divider in the tank if needed to keep everything away from the eggs. although i wasnt planing/expecting them to breed due to there size.

Tanks 48*12*15

They will be somewhat aggressive towards the others while they are defending the eggs. But with their size and what other fish you have in there, I wouldn't worry about much damage being done. Most leikey the eggs will be eaten or once they hatch the fry will be eaten. Most cichlids won't get it right the first time they breed. But if you are serious about breeding and want to raise the fry the best thing to do is put the pair in another tank. You could use a divider as well, but I if the eggs hatch I would take out the male after about 5-6 days. The male would be the one thats swims at the glass when you go near it hahaha, the female will stay closer to the eggs.

Well breeding fish wasnt my intention yet, something i would like to have done at some point. TBH i have no idea which one the male is , the only one gaurding the eggs is the one thats laying them. my dads friend breeds fish so i can get a spare little tank if i need it ,

how long do they take to hatch?

Depending on water temperature, but usually around 3-4 days, and free swimming 4-5 days after that. Well the female would be the one that is guarding the eggs directly. The male more so guards the area.

Hmm that was wierd later last night i saw the one who looked like was laying the eggs eating them . Bit wrong like but oh well guess theyll probs breed again. might get rid of them as im not 100% sure i fancy the idea of having loads of tanks.

Do they sell for much or is it common to have breeding angels?
