Angels and tiger barbs

Hi, when i got my 6 angels about 5 months ago i currently had 3 tiger barbs in the tank that the angels were going to so i bought the barbs a 10g tank. I was wandering if the tigers would fin nip on the angels even if they were kept in a group of 6 or more. from my understanding tigers usually mess with each other when kept in a big group. So would they still fin nip my angels even if there is a large group of them? thanks in advace

I can only speak about my experience with tigers. I have been happiest with them in species tanks (like I have now). Even when I had 8 in a community tank, they still liked chasing and nipping my other fish and I had nothing with fins as long as angels.

Everything I've read online and heard from my lfs has strongly warned against keeping tiger barbs with angels. I was doing the research b/c my husband likes tiger barbs and I like angelfish and wanted to see if I could keep them together.

I wouldn't do it.

Thanx for the replies. I needed the 10g for my betta so it would have heat so i put the barbs in a breeder net in the 125g n they got out n im to lazy to try to put them back in so i guess i got to do that sumtime soon.

even with a large group of barbs, angels are just to much for them to pass up.
