just curious how many of you out there have angelfish? and what tankmates do u keep with them?

I've got a Large Red tailed Black Shark, sword tails, pictus, Bn, Male and Felmale Betta and 2*3 spot gouramis in a 40 Gallon tank with 2 Angels 1 large and another small to medium sized that was killing everything its own size or smaller in another tank, things like neon tetras are there natural food, but some well fed aquarium angels will tolerate them, but anything guppy or bigger should be fine also fin nippers like barbs are a nono as well

I have a marble angel in my community tank with mollies, platies, cardinal tetras and a rubber-lipped pleco.

Love my angel!!

I have 2 Angelfish in my community tank, with a female Betta, 3 Golden Zebra Loaches,
and 2 Platies. :)

I have angelfish of different sizes with tetras and no problems, but i dont have neons :)

i have one angel and 12 cardinal tetras in a 40G with other community fish. angels are okay with cardinals aslong as they are introduced when young.

my angel was 1.5 inches tall (fin to fin) when put in so couldn't fit the tetras in her mouth. because of this she doesn't regard them as food even though she is now about 5 inches tall. trick is to by small angels (although i've never kept 2 together for more than a week as they seem to fight) and introduce them to fully grown tetras.

I have 4 large ones with 5 bala sharks, 3 corys and a pleco. The lobster is in it's own tank now after she tore up a few fins.

In your opinion...are angelfish active fish? Or do they kinda sit in one spot...?
Fairly active, and territorial if they are a mated pair (Mine haven't laid eggs but they are definatly an item). The big yellow one chases the marbles away from the female yellow one.

Either way they are all over the tank. They are responsive to your presence too. When I walk up to the tank, they swim up & stare at me. They will also eat out of your fingers if you want.

All in all, they are great and fairly easy fish to keep.

Keep some melafix in the house in case they get hurt, it's like magic when it comes to regrowing fins.

I would say they are kinda active, yet also can sit in one spot for hours on end, they get a territiory and stick to it. My other fish know to stay outta the way..

Great fish to own and enjoy !!
