:) Hello! I was thinking about buying small  angelfishes! In the store they are about 3 cm big! They are soo cute  !!! I have never had angels before and i dream  of having them. I have 20 gallon aquarium. How do you take care of them(do they require any specific care)? Are they going to bother any of my fish? Will the fish bother them? Do they get adapted well (to water, tempreture, etc.) ? Will that be OK if I buy 2 of them but they will be different kind? :fish:
I will be very appreciated if you could answer all my questions!!! :D

While they are very beautiful and elegant fish, angels grow quickly... and fairly large, often reaching 6+" in height. Angels require an 18" high tank at the least. The smallest tank in which I would place a pair is a 29g.

Sorry. I don't like having to say that. :(

What's cool about their needs for at least 18 inches of water in height is that you can start planning your next tank with them as a certerpiece. No reason not to have that future/special/dream tank in the back of your mind :D

Angelfish do grow quite big quickly, so even if you do buy them (which i hope you don't, sorry to say) you'd have to buy a new tank quite soon.

Everyone else is right. They need at least 18". A pair on its on with a few small bottom dwellers would fit into a 30g but with any other fish I would go for nothing less than 35g.

Can you keep 1 on it's own or is it better to have two??

My tank is 24" tall

It's definitely better if you keep them in pairs or trios. They'll be a lot more active.

ive had 1 in my tank for the past 6.5 years and its doin fine but it doesnt like other fish especially the fast ones

I had two angels and one picked on the other one till the one died but this could be just be a very agressive one.

Angelfish are cichlids, all cichlids have different personalities. Where my dad can keep 6 angels in his 55g peacefully, his friend can onlny keep one in a 75g because itstoo aggresive and kills other angels. It really depends on the personality of the fish you get.
