Hi! My 6 inch tall Silver Angelfish( not sure if it is silver, it's white and pink, and very shiny) and for the last month it's left fin has been turning white and it has been used less and less. I have been treating him for the last week with melafix, and Quick Cure. It has gone away a little bit and is being used more,. but not all the way recoverd. Im broke and out of Melafix and was wondering what this was. Is there any natural way to get rid of this? I do feed them with spirulina three times a day, and i would think that would help with the immune system? Help well appreciated!

50% water changes daily, after a week change 50% every other day for a week.

Thank's Tolak, any idea what it is? I havent really seen anything like this. It's fin is a little detrioated, but if it were fin and tail rot, it would have progressed much further, right?

Anyone? It has gone away for the most part, but now it look's like it's comming back! Melafix was working, but then i ran out and im broke!

Melaifx is no good on bacterial finrot, it keeps it from spreading but dosn't clear the bacteria up.
Melafix is only good on healing fins to stop them getting infected.
If the fins are getting worse when you have been doing water changes you will need a bacterail med like maracyn.
Finrot gram positive bacteria.

Maracyn
Manufacturer: Mardel
A broad-spectrum antibiotic for gram-positive bacterial infections. For infections of columnaris (body fungus), fin and tail rot, popeye, gill disease, and secondary infections.
Active ingredient: Erythromycin.

Are you sure it is finrot? It kinda look's like it. But it didnt destroy the fin. It just turned it white, and made it so the angel couldnt use it. It hasnt gotten any worse over night, and i am keeping up with water change's. I am just mistified at what it might be.

White edging to the fins is finrot.
Do you mean the whole fin is white.
Is it possible to load a pic up.
Is this the same angels as the other thread in emergency.

It sounds like the blood not pumping through the blood vessels.
Can you issolate the sick fish.
I would do a round of marcyn one on the fish.

Its worth a try the maracyn one.

I dont think i need any med's. It seems to have gone away. But if it get's worse, i'll know what to get. Thank's Wilder!
