Right now i have a bala shark, a rainbow shark, and a chinese algae eater. theyre all pretty small since i just got them last week. soon i will be getting a larger tank and i was wondering if these sharks would get along with an angelfish. i thought i saw something at the fish place that they are not compatable but im not positive. just curious to see if theyre compatable
thanks

balas are shoaling fish, how big is the tank your getting?
and do you know how much trouble a CAE is going to be when he's bigger?

i'm not sure about an angel in that mix, depends on the larger tank your getting.

im getting a 10 gallon, which is why i was hoping to find a smaller angelfish..one that wont grow more than 5 or 6 inches, i heard balas can get 10 but someone them stay a little smaller

Angels won't work in a 10 galon, it's not tall enough. Minimum for an angel is a 20 tall, a 29 would be better. There is no such thing as buying a smaller angel, they all grow too tall for a 10 gallon.

right now its a small tank(2.5) but ill be getting the 10 in a week

if you already have those fish, don't get a 10gal, you need a 50 gal with view to upgrading, or take those fish back. none of them are suitable for a 10 gallon.

10 gallon is a tiny tank. no fish that can grow over 3" should be kept in it.

Bala shark (AKA silver shark) can grow to 15" (38cm) and has its a shoaling fish you need a group of 4 or more and need to be looking at 125g MIN for the proper upkeep of this fish.

If you can not afford that size of tank then please take the fish back to the LFS for a refund/credit :)

The rainbow shark grows upto 6" and thats two big for a 10gal as well :(

As for the chinese algae eater do a search, This fish becomes a problem fish with age eating the slime coating of fish and thier eyeballs :(

Has catxx said 10gal = 4 x upto 3" fish max
