Im thinking of buying some angelfish off a home breeder. Ther about 1" at the moment.

Does anyone have experience regarding there growth rates?
Also are these 'baby' angels harder to keep alive than adults?

Is that 1" body size, or with fins? I've got plenty of experience with growth rate, what do you need to know? Once angels hit about 1/2" body size they are a little stronger.

1" body size is somewhwere around 3 months old, depending on the breeders stocking rate, feeding, tank temperature & water change schedule.

aslong as there not to delicate that should be fine. They seem quite slow growing then, what sort of size in another 6 months do you recon?

2 to 3+ inch body size, depending on the strain. Blacks tend to grow a little slower, as do veils & super veils.

Brillient. Thanks

The ones im looking at are silver angels with the vertical black stripes. awsome looking fish.

I dont mind if they grow alittle slower than the other varietys

Silvers grow quick in comparison to blacks, koi, etc. Keep up on water changes, angels do like it a little warmer, 82F is good.

Cool, thanks

The angels will be the 1st addition to this particular tropical tank so water temp ect will be based around them. im going to pic fish that go well with angels as they will be the centre piece
