Hi everyone,
I added a 3rd angelfish to my tank a few days back and it seemed to be getting on really well with the other two. However, it and one of the others have now begun picking on the other original one (it is slightly bigger that the first two by the way).

Do people think that this is just temporary where he is new or are angelfish like that to eachother. It seems like my silver angel has taken a liking to the new one and now they really dislike the other one. Its a shame because the first two used to get on so well.

My plan was actually to add a fourth angel, when I see one I like. Will this help as they may pair up a bit, or is this likely to cause more problems?

Thanks guys.

Thats normal behave of cichlid fish. You shouldn't be worry too much as long it doesn't have too damage fin or body it should be fine. I kept my cichlid like angel and discus in group of 5 minimum to divide agreesion toward just 1 fish. Continue ur observation if some seriouse harm is done then I think u should remove the one from being bully or the bully out of the tank. Return it to the fish store or put it in other tank. Or they might be pair up and ready to breed.

I lost an angel due to bullying by two that paired up against it. Oddlt a third that was in the tank was left alone until that one was lost then they turned on that. Happily I saved it and it is living happily with my lady bettas. Sadly I lost one of the pair to a nasty infection some months later and now have two singles in seperate tanks. :X
Hugs,
P.
