Can Angelfish & Discus fish be in the same tank with each other? Given that the tank is big enough?

Right now my 2 small Angelfish keep nipping at the fins of Guppys (these Guppys are a little bit bigger than the Angelfish)

Angels have a stronger immune system than discus, as well as different eating habits. This is one of the instances where I would med without any illness. I would treat the angels for internal & external protizoans, as well as for any bacteria they may be carrying.

Angels eat like pigs, gulp the food, discus eat slower, graze a bit more. With a large enough, lighty stocked tank, you may pull it off.

I dunno but for some reason, I feel like Angelfish and Discus fish would be an amazing tank. Maybe because they are both around the same physical dimensions, tall and thin.

yeah well it isn't recommended to have angels in a tank with guppies anyway

Normally it does not work out well. Angels tend to be much more agressive in concerns to food. Discus raised with them normally end up stunted unless you really over feed. Then your water quality goes down hill and everything gets stunted. Unless of course you change massive amounts of water.....Like 90% a day. I change 50% a day in my growout tanks. They are bare bottom and discus only.

John, those are some gorgeous BD's. Is that one in the foreground a Hi-Fin? The reason I ask is because I am ordering some today without ever having actually seen a Hi-Fin BD.

As always wonderful pics.

PS: I find it quite an honor that someone from NADA has come to this forum to help everyone out with discus.

The father to the BD's was a high bodied fish. His fins really were not any talled then normal, but the high body influnece showed on these fish. It was kind of an illusion. I don't like an overly high body but a little high bidy influence kind of dresses up the fish to me.

P.S. Thanks. and this pic has nothing to do with the earlier pic...
