I got 2 Angels earlier this year and they ended up pairing up fast. They are on their 4th spawn but out of 2 lost spawns due to they laying on surfaces I can't take out of the tank they are in and plecos eating the eggs. The other 2 spawns were before I treated them for Hex so they turned white within 2 days. Today they spawned again on an amazon sword in the tank that I just added, so thats staying in there. But I'm wondering what my best option is whether or not to set up a breeding tank or just forget about trying to keep the eggs as I'm yet to have a successful spawn, even though I have space to raise young and someone to take them of my hands. I'd love any advice at this point :good:

If you have other tankmates, especially plecs, you will have a hard time getting them to parent raise. Plecs are great for eating eggs, and if the pair thinks the spawn is threatened they will eat them first.

A tank with just the pair would be a starting point, if they don't parent raise after a couple of spawns pull the spawn & hatch in a separate tank. This gives you more control over water parameters, the opportunity to add antibacterials & antifungals if needed, and so on.

At least a 20 high for standard fins, a 29 is better for veils due to the increased water depth. I've always worked with bare bottom tanks, these are easier to keep clean.
