hi i have done much research on angel breeding and i have finally gotten to the point where i have actually bought the angels lol :). I understand that they will form pairs, but i dont know if my angels are young or if they are able to breed. I bought them all from the same tank, just to make sure that they knew each other. I just have one quesiton...

If i ever see a pair that is guarding a corner of the tank and seems ready to breed, would it be okay if i moved them to a separate breeding tank? Or would the move make them stressed out and not wanting to breed anymore?

I dont want the angels to breed in the regular tank because there is gravel, and i dont want the other fish to bother the breeding pair, etc.

I always move them to a separate tank, leave the tank lit by just room light for a few days, and try to limit commotion. This, and more frequent water changes gets them to a normal spawning schedule anywhere from immediately to a few weeks.

thanks lol but i have another question...

I have 6 angels right now. I do not know what their genders are. But imagine if there are like 5 females and 1 male. When they pair up, will the females actually pair up together, or do they have to pair with the opposite sex?

posting the same question on 2 different topics? lol.

i wouldnt count on that. female pairing occurs most in the absence of a male.

lol i wasnt sure which topic you would be reading

But thanks for answering, i hope i get pairs soon! I just dont know how old my angels are, or if they are even old enough to pair, because they seem like they could be ready to pair up
