I am considering angelfish, and I probably could keep 2, but would 1 be ok on it's own? If the fish is going to be stressed or whatever being alone, I would rather get 2!

Any input is great!

I have always had mine in pairs. Never heard of having 5+ at a time..they tend to be aggressive and are not schooling fish..

You are meant to keep a single specimen, a known pair or a group of 5+ to spread aggression.

Ok, thanks! 3 different answers!! lol! Would 1 be the safest way to go then?

Angelfish are schooling fish.

They are best kept as 1, a breeding pair or 6+.
Anything inbetween will cause aggression to the "weaker" ones and more then likely killing them.

I prefer to keep single Angelfish, and they do just fine.

As has been said, they make a good solo fish, they do well in a large shoal in a large tank, or as a breeding pair (although they can be pretty nasty to everything else when breeding).
