Angelfish Aggressive, Tank Not Big Enough?

Dont trust fish stores. Sadly alot of them dont know what they are talking about. I would not recommend sharks since many of them would harm the angel fish and sword fish. What I think a good start would be 1-3 angel Fish ( I would suggest a breeding pair, you may be able to sell the babies..may). You could keep some cool bottom feeders, I would suggest some Louche BUT be aware that some species such as clown would not work in your tank. They all need to be kept in groups of 6+ and most grow 5+in. What I would suggest are yoyo, Chain and Collie Louche. I dont suggest 6+ of each but rather 6 of one of those types.. These fish can do well if your angels and sword tails. With this you can probaly find 1-3 nice fish to fill the last part of your tank as well. But also keep in mind that if you do want to breed angels they will become aggressive to protect there eggs. Also you will need room to hold the eggs. Thus a understocked tank should be a good idea. Just a few suggestions. If you got any other questions feel free to ask me.

im just confused because a few people there told me it would be okay and they generally mind their own business. also on their tanks in the store it says they are a community fish??

i just want everything to look good, a nice setup, with nice lookin fish that get about 6 inches ++

dont trust what most pet stores say. They usually dont train people there that well. Its better to google your info or find it here then ask them. 90% of anyone i have talked to about fish new or old dont seem to know even about fishless cycling as your found out first hand.

Hi callaghan :)

A lot of members that join this forum seem to have the same problems you are having. It's often confusing and the advice you get from the lfs might not be helpful at all. Often they sell fish that they make a profit on, rather than ones that are best for the hobbyist.

You might want to post your questions about Iridescent Sharks in the Catfish section (Other Catfish) of the forum. Here's an interesting article I saw about them:
