Angel With Cut.

hi all, il just get to the point. my large angelfish has a small gash on his side. he got it from a rock in my tank. the rock has been removed. anywase i no im supposed to quarentine him and i will in the morning since im going to bed right now. anywase back on topic. what do i treat him with? i dont want him to get an infection. im going to bed now so hopefully my topic will still be here in the morning. il check back tommarow morning.

For a shallow scrape with only a few scales missing fresh water is about all you need. For a deeper cut, or serious scale & fin damage, a quar tank, 50% water changes daily, and melafix should do the trick. Any whiteness is usually just the healing process, unless it gets fuzzy or starts to spread. Any redness around the wound would indicate an infection, and needs to be treated with antibiotics.

ok thx, it is turning white now. and it had a fuzzy thing on it but that came off and i think it was a piece of cotten. i think il just leave him in there and watch him closely.
