i have 2 angels that have lived together very happily for a long time. i is a bit bigger than the other and today i saw him attacking and chasing the little one.

does anyone know why this could be, when they were so peacful together? :/

How big are they?

How big is the tank, do you have other fish in with them?

Angels will often 'size up to eachother' when getting ready to spawn, they will charge at eachother to test how strong the prospective mate is, mine do a little dance to eachother aswell before they spawn where they face eachother and kind of shake. They dont chase eachother as such but they do chase any other fish away once they have paired off.

tank is around 50g-55g. have other fish in there that are smaller they are the biggest ones. one is about 2" in hight and the other is about 1" and half. they have never been bothered ny any of the other fish, but last night the bigger angel did go for a moonlight gourami. :/

It wont be breeding behaviour then, angels can be territorial but if you only have the two they should have plenty room. Just keep an eye on them.
