Hey all!!,
I have had 2 angelfsih for around the last 2 or so months, and they have been thriving. They are in a 30g tank, with a bio-wheel filter, with 1 amazon sword plant, 4 grass type plants, and some java moss. The last time i had my water checked( last week, since i dont own my own kit), the ammonia was 0, nitrite was 0, the nitrate was 40, and the ph. was 7.4 But i have noticed my black lace viel tailed angel has been getting a little bigger, something only a 14yr old aquarist who pays to much attention to his fish would notice kinda thing. He/she has been acting normally, and eating fine. I have p-med tolak about this, but no response yet. I fed them the other day, and i noticed my "male" was pooping in chuncks, and the "female" was letting out squirst of like diareha(sp?), or bile( hate to make people sick who might be reading this right now!). I am not those kinda people who get sick at the sight of blood are anytihng, but this is one of the nasiest things i have ever seen. I havent noticed "her" pooping or the other one since. I think she might be pregnant becasue of the bulge, but is it possible it could be something else? Her is a pic of "her" about a month or so ago, and the "male" also:

Thnx, in advance.

A healthy angel should have poo that appears stringy but there are exceptions. I tried to click on your links to see if one of them looks gravid. Links unfortunatly arent working. As soon as I can view the pics I'll have a better idea whats going on.

Those were pics from a month ago, not now, and i wont be able to get any more pics for prob 2 days. I feed them: Omega One tropical lake, O.S.I. Angelfish flake, O.S.I. Vivid Color, Nutrifin Livebearer mix w/ tubifex, TetraMin Color, SuperSoft Spirulina Pellets( cuz the angels were eating the amazon sword), Hikari Pellets. I also, like once a month feed frozen beefheart.

As always do a partial water change. If their stool is that loose/watery then a water change is a must. I see your feeding a nice variety. Try only feeding one type for the next few days and see if that clears it up. Ive been out of angle keeping awhile now so I may be missing some suggestions. Im sure Tolak will be around soon and will be able to offer a few more.

I did a water change the day i first noticed the "symtoms" and i have been feeding Omega One for the past week. Just incase there was somthing wacky going on, i did add the recommended dosage of Quick Cure, and i did add some Amquel Plus when i did the water change.

Too much flake could lead to constipation, feed some frozen brine shrimp a couple times weekly. While it doesn't have the nutritional value of many flake foods, the roughage helps to keep their digestive system regular.

You could also ad a tiny bit of epsom salt to the frozen brine, this will take care of any constipation problems, should this be the problem. It's tough to tell without a current picture what the problem may actually be.

Thanks, i figuerd that if it was constapation, the Spirulina would have taken care of that. But you never know. I will do my best to get a pic, but camera is having issues.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up this morning to find that my "female" beat the living crap out of my "male" and i have no idea why, but it is bad. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a divider is needed, along with some daily water changes & melafix. Angels can look pretty bad due to fin damage from aggression, but these heal quickly with fresh water. I would do 50% daily for 5-7 days, adding enough replacement melafix to the water.

If it happened at night in a totally dark room try leaving some sort of room light on during the night. Often a small dim lamp is all that is needed.

Sadley i had to get rid of my black beauty :-( . I didnt want to, but since i had no idea where the aggression came from and no extra tanks i had to do a trade in at superpets(lfs). So now my angel is left all alone( poor thing). I tihnk i am going to put alot of live bearers in there and wait for a new shipment of angels to come in( that will prob be 1 or so). I had my water test and it was like 60ppm and i have no idea how it got that way. Would 2 dead guppies make the water go bad? I definatley need to a a 30% water change. I would do a 50, but i added the last of my plant fertilizer, adn i need as much as possible. All the wounds are healing nicely. The angel has become more active since the black one was removed. Thanks everyone for your advice( espcially tolak!).
